Ambassador Yang Houlan Meets the Chairman of Nepal - China Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr. Shrestha

Ambassador Yang Houlan met Dr. Shrestha, the chairman of Nepal - China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCCI), and his colleagues at former’s residence on 22 June, 2011.

Dr. Shrestha welcomed Ambassador Yang to assume his office and said that the relations of friendship and cooperation between Nepal and China have been developed smoothly, and economic and trade exchanges have shown pretty good momentum. The NCCCI dedicated to promoting bilateral economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, and we hoped that we could work together to open the direct air route from Kathmandu to Beijing and Shanghai as soon as possible, to speed up the infrastructure construction including channels and ports for bilateral trade, to improve the soft environment, and to offer more facilities for the development of trade and economic cooperation between our two countries. The Nepali side appreciated it that China has provided zero-tariff treatment for 4721 kinds of goods produced in Nepal, the NCCCI would hold publicity campaigns to benefit more Nepali enterprises, and we also welcomed more Chinese enterprises to make investments in fields such as the construction of hydropower and infrastructure and so on.

Ambassador Yang said that bilateral economic and trade cooperation was an important basis for relations of friendship and cooperation between the two neighbors, China would make unremitting efforts to improve bilateral economic and trade conditions, and we welcomed the NCCCI to play a more positive role. Ambassador Yang believed that under our joint efforts, the bilateral economic and trade cooperation would be improved continuously, and the connotation of the comprehensive cooperative partnership between Nepal and China would be enriched and extended sustainably.
