Confucius Institute in Kathmandu University was jointly established by the Kathmandu University of Nepal and Hebei University of Trade and Business of China on the 5th February of 2007, the establishment agreement was signed by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China on behalf of the Office of the Chinese Language Council International and Kathmandu University, and the inauguration ceremony was held in Kathmandu University on the 13th June of 2007.
