Q: A report issued by a cyber security company of China accused a foreign government-backed hacker group named "Ocean Lotus" of having engaged in cyber attacks against Chinese institutions since 2012. What is China's comment on that?

A: If what has been reported is true, it proves once again that China is the victim of hacker attacks. The Chinese side firmly opposes and combats all forms of hacker attacks. China always believes that international cooperation is an effective approach to tackling hacker attacks. The Chinese side is ready to work with the international community to step up cyber security cooperation based on mutual respect and mutual trust, lay down a code of conduct for countries in the cyber space, fight against cyber attacks and build a cyber space featuring peace, security, openness and cooperation.

Q: ROK President Park Geun-hye said yesterday that the Murayama Statement and the Kono Statement served as the foundation of friendly relations between Japan and the ROK. Japan's carrying on of these statements is vitally important for the improvement of the bilateral relationship. She hoped that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe would incorporate the reflection upon "the colonial rule and aggression" as written in the Murayama Statement in his speech marking the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII , saying that Japan should make a decision on restoring the reputation of comfort women. What is China's comment on that?

A: It is hoped that the Japanese government and leadership will pay heed to the international community's call for justice, uphold successive governments' solemn statements and commitments on facing up to and deeply reflecting on the history of aggression, properly deal with the history issue 70 years after the end of WWII and make tangible moves to win the trust of Asian neighbors and the international community.

Q: Yesterday, China and the ROK officially signed the free trade agreement. What does that mean to the development of China-ROK relationship in the future?

A: China and the ROK announced their official signing of the free trade agreement on June 1. Both China and the ROK are important economies in East Asia and the Asia-Pacific. Yesterday, President Xi Jinping and ROK President Park Geun-hye sent messages of congratulations to each other on the landmark signing of the free trade deal. We believe that the signing of the deal will enable the growth of bilateral trade by leaps and bounds, deliver more tangible benefits to the two peoples and give a further boost to the process of economic integration in East Asia and the Asia-Pacific as well as the development of the world economy.
