On June 30th, 2017, the Handover Ceremony of China Aided Project of National Armed Police Force Academy of Nepal was successfully held in Kathmandu. H. E. Ambassador of P. R. China, Ms. Yu Hong attended the Ceremony and signed on behalf of the Chinese Government the Delivery and Acceptance Certificate for the project together with His Excellency Mr. Lok Darshan Regmi, Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs. Honorable Janardan Sharma, Minister of Home Affairs, along with other honored guests were present at the Ceremony.
Ambassador Yu highlighted that China and Nepal are friendly neighbors linked by rivers and mountains, and have enjoyed time-honored friendship. Just last month (May), China and Nepal signed the MOU on the Belt and Road Cooperation and MOU on Construction of Cross-border Economic Cooperation Zones. The signing of the MOU on the Belt and Road Cooperation between both countries has brought new vigor and new opportunities for bilateral relationship development and mutual cooperation. China is willing to continue the assistance and support to Nepal within its capacity and make a contribution to Nepal post-disaster reconstruction and social & economic development.
The construction of the project started on April 16th, 2015, and suffered from the massive earthquake on April 25th, 2015 as well as the shortage of fuel stock. However, the implement organization has overcome all the difficulties and spared no efforts to completing the high-quality project on time with the close cooperation of both countries. Mr. Regmi, Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs, praised that the newly constructed academy is the first of its kind in Nepal, and the Armed Police Force of Nepal will be highly benefitted from the project.
