Distinguished guests and dear friends, Ladies and gentlemen,

Good afternoon.

It’s my great pleasure to attend the Closing Ceremony of the first China Winter Camp in Nepal organized by our embassy. I’d like to express my deep gratitude to Chinese volunteer teachers, Confucius Institute, Confucius Classroo, Nepalese students, Malpi International School as well as all Nepalese friends who have dedicated to the success of the China Winter Camp.

China and Nepal are ancient countries with splendid cultural history. The good-neighborly partnership featuring everlasting friendship has deeply rooted among the people of the two countries. Cultural exchanges between two countries can be traced back to the ancient time. Thus, the people of the two countries are attracted by each other's culture. Language is the carrier of culture and culture is the bridge of communication. With the constant development of China-Nepal friendship in recent years, Nepalese people are getting more and more eager to learn Chinese language and culture. I do believe that China-Nepal culture will be beneficial to achieve common prosperity through exchanges and mutual learning. I do believe that, with the increasing exchanges in the cultural and educational fields, mutual understanding and friendship will certainly be deepened between the two peoples.

As Chairman Mao Zedong, the great Chinese leader once commented, that “The youth, full of vigor and vitality, are as fresh and promising as the morning sun at 8 or 9 o’clock.” What I would like to say to all students in Winter Camp, that Nepal’s future lies with you, and the traditional friendship between our two countries will be passed on by all of you.

Finally, I sincerely wish China-Nepal younger generation would further enhance mutual understanding by communication and jointly create a better future for our two countries’ mutually beneficial cooperation.

Thank you.
