H.E. Ambassador Mr. Yang Houlan Attended the Prize Distribution Program of Inter-School Oratory Competition on the Auspicious Occasion of 57th Anniversary of Nepal-China Cordial Relationship

On December 25, 2012, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Yang Houlan went to Mangal Higher Secondary School in Kirtipur to attend the Prize Distribution Program of Inter-School Oratory Competition on the auspicious occasion of 57th Anniversary of Nepal-China Cordial Relationship, organized by Mangal Higher Secondary School and Nepal China Friendship Center.

President of Nepal China Friendship Center Mr. Bajracharya, and Chairperson of Mangal Higher Secondary School Mr. Maharjan reviewed the history of friendly exchanges of the two countries. They were delighted to see the sustained and rapid development of the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries established diplomatic relations 57 years ago and expressed appreciation to China for its long-term firm support and assistance to Nepal. They hoped to work together to ensure increasingly close cooperation and make a positive contribution to the traditional friendship of the two countries.

 

Ambassador Yang expressed the view that China and Nepal are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. The traditional friendship between us has a long history. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on August 1, 1955, exchanges in each field of two countries have become more active. Political mutual trust has been enhanced constantly, economic and trade cooperation has developed continually and mutual cultural exchanges have increased frequently. At the beginning of this year, Prime Minister Wen Jiabo had a successful visit to Nepal. Since then China-Nepal relationship had entered a new stage of era. He believed young students are the driving forces to promote the China-Nepal friendly relationships in the future. When he saw so many students participated in oratory contest on "The Diplomatic relationship Between Nepal and China", he felt full of confidence to further promote the bilateral relations to Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship.

Ambassador Yang awarded certificates to the winners of the oratory contest. The students and teachers of Mangal Higher Secondary School gave a cheerful song and dance during the ceremony. After the ceremony, Ambassador Yang visited the school library and donated books which introduced China.
