H.E. Ambassador Mr. Yang Houlan Visits Shree Kodari Higher Secondary School

On 27 June, 2012, H.E. Mr. Yang Houlan, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, visited Shree Kodari Higher Secondary School in Tatopani, Kodari, Sindhupalchok. H.E. Mr. Durga Prasad Pokharel, Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchok, local political party leaders including CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist), Mr. Ananda Pokhrel, the Chairman of Nepal-China Himalaya Friendship Society, students and faculties of Shree Kodari Higher Secondary School along with hundreds of local residents attended the welcome ceremony.

Yang said in his speech that China and Nepal are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. Tatopani has played an important role in the trade and culture exchanges between China and Nepal since ancient times. In Tatopani, I feel that Chinese and Nepalese are really like brothers and sisters and thank the people here for your long-time support to China-Nepal relations. The young generation is nation's hope and also shoulders the responsibility of promoting China-Nepal friendship. I believe under our joint efforts, China-Nepal friendship will continue forever.

 

Mr. Pokharel, CDO of Sindhupalchok and other guests expressed their thanks to the Chinese side for the support and assistance to Nepal's education sector. They reviewed the historical friendship between Nepal and China, and stated that the government and people of Nepal firmly stand for One China Policy. They will never allow any anti-China activities to happen on Nepal's territory. They hope to strengthen the people to people connect and mutually-benefit cooperation with China in economic and trade, hydropower, agriculture, culture and education, and other sectors, to promote the economic and social development of Nepal.
