Liu Qi, the Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee Visits Nepal

On November 5-8, at the invitation of Government of Nepal, Mr.Liu Qi, the Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee, led a delegation to visit Nepal.

During his visit, Liu Qi met with the President Yadav, Prime Minister Bhattarai, DPM and Minister for Foreign Affairs Shrestha, Minister for Commerce and Supplies Bhata, Minister for Education Bogati and acting Mayor of Kathmandu Rai. He also attended the Signing ceremony on friendly cooperation agreement between Beijing Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry with Bhata and Bogati respectively.

Both sides spoke highly of the development of China-Nepal traditional good neighborly friendship and unanimously agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation and enrich the content of China-Nepal Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation.

Liu Qi appreciated the precious supports provided by the Government of Nepal on the issues of Tai Wan and Tibet. He stated that China would, as always, provide support and assistance, within its capacity, to Nepal's economic and social development.

The Nepalese side spoke highly of the ever-lasting friendship between the two peoples and the sound development of two relations. They appreciated the long-standing support and assistance provided by the Chinese Government and the people. The Nepalese sides stated that they would unswervingly follow one-China policy and never allow any forces to use its territory to engage in any anti-China activities. They would make joint efforts with Chinese side to promote the development of friendly cooperation between the two countries.
