China Festival 2007

China Festival 2007 is to be held from the 16th to 22nd of September, 2007 at BICC, New Baneshor, Kathmandu, Nepal. This big event is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture of China, the People's Government of Guangdong Province of China and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Nepal, and jointly held by the People's Government of Zhuhai City, Guangdong, China and the World Cultural Net of Nepal.

The week-long event will see colorful activities including cultural performance, trade fair, book fair, fashion show, photo exhibition, Chinese lantern exhibition, food festival and Chinese handicraft exhibition as well as Wushu show.

It is the third time that China Festival has been held here in Kathmandu, Nepal. With the theme of "Harmonious Guangdong & Attractive Zhuhai", China Festival 2007 will be on a bigger scale, with some local flavour. This third Festival provides a window, through which Nepalese people can get a glimpse of rich Chinese culture, esp. that of southern China and the modern city of Zhuhai as well. The Festival can also help create chances for business cooperation between the two countries.

China Festival 2007 aims at further consolidating the existing friendly relationship between Nepal and China. Chinese Government attaches great importance to this event, and Government of Nepal gives it full support. Staffs from different sides including many volunteers, Nepali and Chinese, willingly and gladly are making joint efforts to ensure the success of this grant event.

His Excellency Mr. Girija Prasad Koirala, honorable Prime Minister of Nepal, of Nepal , His Excellency Mr. Prithvi Subba Gurung , Minister for Culture, Tourism, & Aviation of Nepal, Madam Lei Yulan, Vice-governor of Guangdong Province, China, the Chinese Ambassador his Excellency Mr. Zheng Xianglin as well as many VIPs will attend the opening ceremony at 17:30pm, Sept,16, followed by the cultural performance.
