Application Procedure
1. Documents issued by the Nepalese Government, such as marriage certificate, birth certificate etc. can be directly legalized by the Department of Consular Services of Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( Address:Narayanhiti,Kathmandu;Phone:00977-1-4260108/121; Website:www.nepalconsular.gov.np).
2. Documents not issued by government institutions shall be certified by local Notaries Public/lawyers in advance before applying for legalization by the Department of Consular Services.
Documents to be submitted:
1. One duly completed and signed Application Form of Consular Legalization.
2. The document to be legalized, submit both the original and a complete set of photocopy.
3. For individual documents, please provide one Passport/Citizenship Certificate copy of the applicant; for corporate documents, please provide copy of Certificate of Incorporation issued by the office of the Company Registrar, the company document certifying the identity of the legal representative and the Passport /Citizenship Certificate of the legal representative.
4. If your application is submitted by an agent, please include one copy of the agent' s Passport/Citizenship Certificate.
5. Other supporting documents the consular officer may request.
Notes and additional requirements for the following documents:

Birth Certificate | The application should be filed by the child's parent or guardian, with the child as the Applicant and the parent/guardian as the Agent, but "signature of applicant" should be done by the parent or guardian. Death Certificate | Death Certificate legalization should be submitted by a close relative of the decedent, with the decedent's information filled in Section 1, and the "signature of applicant" done by the relative. Notes:
1. Please make sure you have followed all the steps required for legalization before submitting your document to the Chinese Embassy for final legalization.
2. Your document must be authentic, intact and legitimate. The Embassy will NOT legalize a document that contains illegal contents under Chinese laws or may cause potential threats to China's national or public interests.
3. A document containing two or more pages must be bound properly and securely, with sealing wax or paging seal/embossed seal to ensure the integrity of the document. The Embassy will NOT legalize a document if it is found illegitimate, or in any way forged, counterfeited, fraudulent or altered.
4. Single affidavits/certificates intended to be used for marriage registration in China and certain adoption documents regarding marital status, health status, or criminal records are only valid for six months from the date of issuance. The Embassy will NOT legalize a document if it becomes invalid.
