Ambassador Yang Houlan Calls on Hon. Mr. Bhattarai, Prime Minister of Nepal

On September 8, Ambassador to Nepal H.E. Mr. Yang Houlan paid a call on Hon. Mr. Bhattarai, New Prime Minister of Nepal, exchanging views on China-Nepal relations with the attendance of the spouse of PM, Mr. Yami, CA member, Mr. Kusum, Secretary of Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Ms. Adhikari, Joint secretary of Foreign Ministry of Nepal among the others.

Ambassador Yang firstly conveyed the congratulatory message from Premier Wen Jiabao to Mr. Bhattarai assuming his office of Prime Minister of Nepal. Ambassador Yang said Chinese side highly appreciates that the Nepali government positively contributes to China-Nepal friendship all the time and strongly adheres to One China Policy. The Chinese government attaches high importance to develop the good-neighbor friendship with Nepal. The Chinese side is not only willing to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with Nepali side during the fields of politics, economy and trade, and personality, but also to encourage more and more Chinese tourists and enterprises to visit Nepal and participate the construction of hydropower, agriculture and infrastructure so as to push forward the China-Nepal Comprehensive Cooperative Partner Relationship.

PM invited Ambassador to convey his thanks to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and said that Nepal-China relations have been witnessing sound development, which is a pride of the Nepali people. Nepali government always sticks to One China Policy and would never allow any forces to use Nepali soil for anti-China activities. The policy will be carried out in the future also. Nepali side highly appreciated that the Chinese government has been giving support and assistance to Nepal since long time ago. As the new prime minister of Nepal, he will try his best within his ability to expand and deepen win-win and friendly Nepal-China cooperation at all levels.
